Coach Travel To Parklife

Big Green Coach is back as our official travel partner, providing hassle-free return coach transfers directly to the festival.

Travel sustainably with like-minded festival-goers on Saturday and Sunday. Your carbon-neutral coach will get to the gates before the music starts and return to your pick up location after the headliners. You won’t need to worry about booking expensive hotels and taxis, queuing for the tram or being the designated driver.

PARKLIFE TRAVEL PASS

The Fastest and Easiest Way to Travel to and from Heaton Park.

 

A partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester, Manchester City Council and Parklife. Offering great flexibility and the quickest route to the festival, the Parklife Travel Pass allows you to travel on the direct Parklife Shuttle Bus and Metrolink service from Manchester City Centre.

Journeys take around 30 minutes on the bus with drop off right inside the festival site. Journeys from Victoria by tram take approximately 15 minutes with drop off near the West entry gate.

Buses will operate back into Manchester from the early evening, until the site is clear, and fans should use the NORTH EXIT of the site for the bus departure point.

Tickets cost £5 per day and can be found on the Tickets section of the website. Buying tickets in advance will help reduce your queuing time for buses.

Tickets will be in an electronic format, so all you need to do is have your ticket on your phone or device, ready to show staff when boarding the Parklife Shuttle Bus.

Please note, Heaton Park Metrolink stop will be closed from 20:00 on both evenings. This is to allow for the safe management of crowds, and passengers should instead use Bowker Vale.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Fans can use tram services, operating every six minutes to Heaton Park, or the Parklife Shuttle Bus service to travel to the site.

Trams and buses will run across the weekend and continue into the early morning, to ensure everyone gets home safely.

The transport ticket – offering travel by bus from Manchester City Centre to Heaton Park – is available to buy in advance with your festival ticket.

It costs £5 for Saturday or Sunday, or £10 for the weekend. We encourage you to purchase your ticket in advance to help reduce queuing times at the departure point.

On the return tram journey, travel passes will be accepted from Bowker Vale Metrolink station until 20:00

Bus

The Parklife Shuttle will run continuously during the day, departing from the corner of Aytoun Street and Minshull Street (M1 2DD), near Piccadilly train station.

Journeys take around 30 minutes with drop-off right inside the festival site.

On Saturday the first bus to the Park will depart at 09:30 with the last bus departing at 16:30.

On Sunday the first bus to the Park will depart at 10:30 with the last bus departing at 16:30.

On both days, buses will depart at least every 10 minutes or when full.

We anticipate queues for bus services at the busiest times of the day. Between 13:00 and 15:00 queues are expected to reach up to 45 minutes. Please allow additional time for travel or consider travelling earlier in the day for a quicker journey.

On both days, the return bus service will depart from inside the Park to Manchester City Centre, beginning at 18:30 and will continue until the site is clear.

As soon as a bus is full it will depart, dropping passengers off at Shudehill Interchange in the city centre.

Tram

On the return tram journey, travel passes will be accepted from Bowker Vale Metrolink station.

METROLINK

Trams will operate every six minutes from Victoria to Heaton Park during the day. For entry to the event please use the Heaton Park stop, located close to the West Gate entrance.

Post-event, please use the Bowker Vale stop which is located near the East Gate exit. For safety reasons, Heaton Park will be closed from 20:00.

Parklife Travel Passes will be valid for travel on Metrolink. It costs £5 for Saturday or Sunday, or £10 for the weekend. We encourage you to purchase your ticket in advance to help reduce queuing times at the departure point.

CAR PARKING

Official Parklife car parking at Heaton Park will be available through Ticketmaster closer to the event.

In order to facilitate this year’s Parklife event there are a number of roads closed at the end of the event & roads with traffic orders in place around Heaton Park. Please expect delays in leaving the car park.

If you are being picked up or are picking up a relative or friend, there is a nominated pick up point at Sainsbury’s Superstore car park off Middleton Road, M9 0QS. this will be open from 22:00 & you can wait here safely to be collected or to collect people.

There is absolutely no on-street parking around the event site, and there will be a number of roads closed around Heaton Park. Traffic wardens will be patrolling the area around the site and your car will be towed and impounded by the wardens. If you are driving to Parklife, please use the official event car park.

Please note Junction 19 of the M60 will be closed from 19:00 on both nights.

UNDER YOUR OWN STEAM

BICYCLE

We encourage the use of bicycles, there will be a bike rack in the car park so be green and ride to Parklife!

ON FOOT

We anticipate that there will be long queues for bus services post-event, so you may find it quicker to walk.

Heaton Park is around a one hour walk from Manchester City Centre.

There is a clear walking route along Bury Old Road which will be signposted to and from Manchester City Centre to Parklife.

The quickest route for walking begins by leaving through the EAST GATE and turning RIGHT.

TAXI

Taxis are also a very popular way of leaving the park.

There will be a Manchester Hackney Carriage Taxi Rank in Blackley New Road and a Bury Hackney Carriage Taxi Rank outside the Woodthorpe pub on Bury Old Road.

Please be aware of unlicensed taxis. These are unregulated and could be unsafe.

Customers booking their own private hire vehicles need to to direct them to the pick up point at Heaton Park Sainsbury’s.

PRIVATE CARS

There will be increased congestion and various road closures in place around the festival site over the weekend.

Roads will be busiest as fans make their way to the site from 10:30 to 16:30 and after the end of the event from 10:30 to 00:30 on both days.

If you are getting home by car, there is a designated pick-up point at Sainsbury’s on Heaton Park Road, which will also be signposted. If you are driving to and from the designated pick-up point, please be aware that Junction 19 of the M60 will be closed from 19:00 on both nights. Access to the pick-up point will be via Victoria Avenue and Middleton Road.
